Centurion University of Technology and Management, Andhra Pradesh (CUTMAP), is a pioneering institution recognized as India’s first ‘Skills University,’ integrating academics, skill development, and hands-on learning. The Centurion School of Smart Agriculture (CSSAg), established in 2024, is dedicated to excellence in agricultural education, research, and rural development. It emphasizes modern agricultural practices such as precision farming, hydroponics, tissue culture, IoT-based cultivation, drip/sprinkler irrigation, and drone technology. The school fosters community development through extension activities and has trained over 1,000,000 farmers across 15 districts in Andhra Pradesh. CSSAg offers 150+ skill courses, 35 Experiential Learning Program (AELP) units, and is integrated with six advanced research centers focusing on areas like smart agriculture, genetics, and drone technology. The university’s unique education model has been cited in the UN General Assembly Report for its innovative approach.

The B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture program follows the ICAR Sixth Dean Committee Course Framework and integrates domain and skill-based courses to provide a multidisciplinary education. Key components include:

  • Domain Courses: Provide theoretical depth in areas such as Agricultural Extension Education, Plant Breeding, and other allied sectors, fostering systemic thinking about agricultural challenges.

  • Skill Courses: Over 140 skill-based courses focusing on practical competencies like farm mechanization, organic farming, precision agriculture, and entrepreneurial skills.

  • Experiential Learning Program (AELP): Includes 35 units such as mushroom cultivation, dairy farming, plant tissue culture, hybrid seed production, and smart farm machinery, bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.

  • Program Structure: Implemented during the 7th and 8th semesters, focusing on entrepreneurship skills through:

    • Experiential Learning/Hands-on Training

    • In-Plant Training/Industrial Attachment

    • Rural Agriculture Work Experience

    • Skill Development Training

    • Student Projects

  • Cutting-Edge Technologies: Integration of Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), IoT-based climate control, speed breeding, and supercritical CO₂ extraction for essential oils.

To be eligible for admission into the B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture program (4-year duration), candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Academic Requirement: Must have passed +2 Science examinations with Biology as one of the subjects.

  • Minimum Marks:

    • General Candidates: 50% in aggregate.

    • SC and ST Candidates: 40% in aggregate.

  • Entrance Exams: Admission is available through State Agricultural Universities (SAU), Central Agricultural Universities (CAU), AIEEA UG entrance by ICAR, or the Centurion University Entrance Examination (CUEE).
